Maybe it's Time for a Beat Tape?

After looking back at all the Tekken themed beats that were posted, it's about time to group them all together for beat cd/mixtape/beat tape/whatever you wanna call it. Here is yet another Tekken inspired hip hop beat. This one is sampled from Kazuya Mishima's Tekken 2 stage theme.

No Love for Ganyru

I was thinking about one of the insignificant Tekken sub-plots while making this. The story goes like this; Ganryu, a sumo wrestler, fell in love with Michelle Chang, a Native-American fighter who is determined to recover a medallion that was stolen from her by the Mishima Zaibatsu. Anyways, the story between the two is irrelevant but the theme music for Ganryu's stage in Tekken 2 makes for some good samplin'.

I have this weird infatuation with the Tekken 2 OST. It's just so damn good. This was one of the simpler Tekken remixes I've done. Slowed down the tempo just to slow down the tempo...again. It switches up about 50 seconds in but don't listen to me, hear for yourself.

Here's another Tekken track I put my own twist on. Made this a few months back sometime in 2013. The song I sampled this from is actually a remixed version from the Tekken arcade original soundtrack. On a side note, why does this picture of Tekken 2 Lee Chaolan look like he's wearing eyeliner? Well, he is the original pretty boy of the Tekken series...

BEST of the Battle V recap

Last weekend we partnered up with the good people from Capsule Entertainment to bring forth the fifth installment of the fighting game tournament series, BEST of the Battle. Food, drinks, music, stickers, tee shirts, art, and of course, fighting games is what the BOTB tournament series is all about. Although there was a 9 game lineup for the event, 3 out of the 9 games actually had a tournament go down (there has to be at least 8 people for a tournament to take place). Unfortunately, I was not on top of my photo shooting skills this time around so I only captured a few snapshots of the whole event.

Next week we're hosting a big fighting game tournament at this spot we like to call The ¿Wherehouse? We're teaming up with Capsule Entertainment again to put together a tournament for 9 different fighting games such as Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, and Tekken.
