Last weekend Street Fighter fans and competitors from all over the world gathered for the first ever Capcom Cup. Hosted by Capcom, the event took place at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. The event brought out many of the worlds best fighting game players to compete for the gold. Those who qualified to enter the tournament, such as Justin Wong, Chris G, Fuudo and Infiltration competed in one of three games; Street Fighter x Tekken, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. Clicks, Beats, & Tekken 2
When I'm in the mood & feeling the groove, I like to sit down for while and try to piece together a hip hop instrumental (or a rap beat, whatever). I'm a big fan of sampling other songs so I decided to borrow the sounds from one of my favorite fighting games to make a beat. Old school 90's fighting game music contains some of my favorite music of all time for video games. A couple months ago I was browsing through the Tekken 2 soundtrack and I was really diggin' Devil & Angel's stage theme. Nonetheless, I used some of the sounds from the song to help make my own version.

BEST of the Battle IV
Last Saturday we teamed up with Capsule Entertainment to bring the 4th installment of the BEST of the Battle series (BOTB). 7 games, 6 tournaments, 2 floors, and a bar full of beverages inside a graffiti covered warehouse. BOTB is a seasonal video game competition that is exclusive to the fighting game genre. The event draws out some of the strongest fighting game pro's in the region. Some people go to the event with intentions of victory. Some go to see how their skills stack up against other players. Some go to support the scene. Even if competing isn't your thing, people showed up to play casual matches with other players. In order to get inside the event you had the choice of paying a venue fee or donating canned goods to the Second Harvest Food Bank (just in time for Thanksgiving). #BESToftheBattle
