Last Saturday we teamed up with Capsule Entertainment to bring the 4th installment of the BEST of the Battle series (BOTB). 7 games, 6 tournaments, 2 floors, and a bar full of beverages inside a graffiti covered warehouse. BOTB is a seasonal video game competition that is exclusive to the fighting game genre. The event draws out some of the strongest fighting game pro's in the region. Some people go to the event with intentions of victory. Some go to see how their skills stack up against other players. Some go to support the scene. Even if competing isn't your thing, people showed up to play casual matches with other players. In order to get inside the event you had the choice of paying a venue fee or donating canned goods to the Second Harvest Food Bank (just in time for Thanksgiving). #BESToftheBattle
The registration line
Pay $10 for venue? Or donate 5 cans of food? Hmmm...
The upstairs game room had a back-to-back monitor set-up that projected on the big screen. Complete with a DJ.
